Veep-Stakes

“I think he can be ready, but right now, I don’t believe he is. The presidency is not something that lends itself to on-the-job training.” Joe Biden in 2007.

Biden talking McCain on “The Daily Show” in 2005: “I would be honored to run with or against John McCain, because I think the country would be better off.”

With friends like that.....

Maybe the first statement is right. In a world where campaigns are won or lost not on issues but stupid ass sound bites, Obama has given the Repubs some great cannon fodder.

Should be interesting. I was hoping for Bayh or Kaine.

Yea I think Baye would have been better, too, and oddly, Biden was the first one out of the box with what the Obama campaign labeled "racist remarks" by claiming he was the first nice, clean black guy to run for prez. Biden also voted for the draconian bankruptcy laws that have effectively eliminated the whole debt-forgiveness part. Now all credit cards, medical, and auto loan debt is no longer forgiven!

And worse (in my opinion) is that while Obama kicked Hillary in the nuts for voting for Iraq (lord knows I did), Biden was on board from the start. Sorta throws all that "look where experience got us" talk out the window.

If McCain were to pick a woman (who?), then all bets are off in this election. Every race and gender would be canceled out on both tickets!
